REM Island is an industrial TV platform towed to the Dutch coast in 1964. Its original purpose was a pirate broadcasting station for Radio and Television. Nowadays it's easily accessible by land directly from Amsterdam - so it's not an island per se. It has a fabulous restaurant, event space and rooftop terrace. Oh and did we mention the view? And that's where we are getting married!
Our dress code is the three F's. Festive, Fabulous, and Fancy. You do with that what you will. Wear a suit, a dress, a kilt or multicolored robes—as long as you do right by the three F's. No color code or anything like that, just come feeling Festive, Fabulous and Fancy!
One Important Note: due to the industrial nature of the location, the floor is sometimes perforated to let rain pass through. So maybe skip the stilettos – the floor's got some holes (it's quirky like that).
That's right! This way we are able to have the REM Island just for us! And since our celebration extends into the night on a Sunday, it might be a good idea to consider taking Monday (morning) off to relax and reminisce rather than leaving the party early.
The top of your invite specifies who is invited, and should tell you if it's you, you+partner, or you+1.
Children are cherished, but we've decided to make this an adults-only celebration.
We're still finalizing the finer details of our program. Rest assured, closer to the date, you'll receive a detailed itinerary. Currently, we're planning the ceremony, a fabulous dinner, and a party that goes on until 1AM.
If you're traveling in, do keep in mind we're considering hosting something special the evening before.
If you want to stay close to the venue we can recommend Boat & Co. Use the code LOYALTY for 15% off.
For larger accommodation (apartments) stay at Cityden BoLo District. Use the code FANOFCITYDEN24 for 10% off.
Other hotels close by are: Moxy Amsterdam Houthavens (4*), Park Inn Amsterdam City West (4*).
If this is your first visit to Amsterdam, or you want to combine it with a city trip for yourself, then maybe staying close to the venue isn't your first priority. The venue is accessible by cab, Uber, or rented bike if you feel adventurous.
We're genuinely grateful for any gesture of love and celebration. Every culture has different wedding present etiquette, but since this is such a multicultural wedding, we thought there could be different ways.
If you want to keep it simple, we'd love for you to add to our honeymoon fund. ✉️
If you have some extra special amazing gift idea that you know would work so much better because you know us oh so well - then go for it.
But the most important gift of all is your presence!
Small Note: We'll be leaving on honeymoon right after the wedding, so flower bouquets might not be the best choice :)
